4th of July

Since Jeremy had to work on the night of the actual 4th, we again spread out our celebrations over a few days. The evening of the 3rd we went into Marion to watch fireworks from our friends' backyard with a wonderful view. We enjoyed some snacks, drinks, backyard games, and gorgeous fireworks.

On the 4th, then, we traveled to Monticello to watch one of the longest parades in the history of parades. We were so sweaty after an hour that we decided to get up and leave. The parade did end shortly after that! Highlights for the girls included getting ice cream sandwiches handed to them, and a highlight for Jeremy was getting a beef stick. We made a quick trip out to Grandpa Tom's house to cool off, visit, and eat our picnic lunch.

Our day ended with showers and a movie night, while Jeremy went in for a wild night of work. It was a fun and festive fourth!
