Snow Family

Our cold winter was filled with lots of light, fluffy snow that did not bode well for packing.  Last Saturday we were surprised with a couple inches of heavy, wet snow that was the perfect material for making a snow family.  Here are the creations, courtesy of Audrey and Kate:

Photo Shoot

Happy Valentine's Day a few days late!  Our dear, sweet Audrey was sidelined for two days with a stomach bug that affected many, many elementary students this past week, so our Valentine's Day was spent helping her recover.  She is much better now, and she is excited to pass out her valentines at school tomorrow. 

Kate, on the other hand, was healthier this week and had a wonderful Valentine's Day party with Dana and her friends.  She has mentioned many times this week about how much she loves Kainen, a boy from daycare, so love was definitely in the air.

Since we couldn't do any pictures on Valentine's Day, here are a few from a fun photo shoot at our house this weekend.  Audrey thought of all the poses, and both girls took turns behind the camera.  We love our sweet (and CRAZY) ladies!

Weekend Away

We took a short trip last weekend to break up the winter weekends and had, what Audrey declared to be, the "best weekend she's ever had."  We were able to sneak in some good food, lots of swimming, and a night of sleep on a pull-out couch.  What more could you ask for?  Audrey is growing more and more comfortable in the water, and Kate is doing wonderfully, too.  She definitely doesn't have Audrey's hesitancy as a part of her water experience!

We were so glad Jack could join us, too!  He didn't smile a lot in the water, but he didn't complain, either.  He seemed most excited about the white line on the floor going around the pool, as he could have followed that line all night!

Cute Conversation

After a long break, we're back. :)  Our January was busy, but not too eventful.  We're glad another month of cold weather is done, and we are that much closer to spring!

Here is a cute story from the car last week:

We were talking about me possibly having a sinus infection.

Audrey:  "I know what you mean.  When I swallow that stuff, I think it tastes bad.  It's like rotten lettuce."

Me: (laughing) "You're kind of right, Audrey."

Kate:  "Phew.  Then I'll never get that because I don't like lettuce."
