Potty?

Audrey has shown interest in using the potty, so we have decided to just take advantage of it and put her on whenever she asks.  She has been successful quite a few times, but is far from working on being potty-trained.  Sunday we went into the bathroom when she said, "Potty?" and found it was already in use.  When I asked who put the duck in, she said, "Audi."

A Visit

Audrey was excited a few weeks ago to travel to Monticello to visit her great-grandpa and grandma on her dad's side of the family.  They had been in Arizona most of the winter, so she hadn't seen them since Christmas.  Audrey worked on saying "Nuh" and "Duh" the whole trip there, since that is what her dad called them when he was little.  She loved the rocking chair, playing hide and seek, and, of course, the food!  Thanks for a great visit!  We are happy to have you home.

Hair....again

If you have seen Audrey recently, you will know that her hair looks a bit unruly at times.  She hasn't really tolerated headbands or clips in her hair, so recently we have started to ease into it.  We've put headbands on Audrey, Belle, Mila, and even Dad!  Audrey's dolls have had clips in their hair, too!  She seems to be getting more used to it, which may help the hair situation.

Unfortunately, the headbands got moved farther back during some wild play.  At least it still keeps the hair out of her face!

Fashion Show

Some weekend days we have a fashion show that stars Audrey!  Recently, she put on two different boots and a winter coat over her pajamas and hung out in a folding chair.  Somehow, she manages to pull this look off.

After taking a good look in the mirror, though, Audrey decided to get her purse and go shopping for some new clothes!

Hide and Seek

If you are in the mood for fun, you better play hide and seek with Audrey!  She loves to search for the hidden person, and lately, we have been asking her to hide too.  Her favorite hiding spot is to just back up against the wall.  We pretend we can't see her, so it works out really well for everyone involved.

This is the face you get to see when she finds you.  What a cutie!

Babies

Right now, Audrey is obsessed with babies and dolls.  She will gravitate toward real babies in church, the mall, daycare, or while on a walk.  At home, she is constantly playing with her dolls, and her current idea of fun is placing a doll in her highchair when she is not in it.  She says, "Buckle baby," and she buckles the baby in.  It's fun to see this imaginative play start to come out more and more!  The funniest story from this stage came when Audrey was on a stroller ride with her dad last week, and she yelled, "Baby!" at a school-aged boy.  She better watch out, or she could find herself in a fight!

Audrey's "CHEESE" face

Well, if she's not going to finish it, then I will.

Spring Fun

We love that the weather has warmed up for a day here and there.  We have taken advantage of each warm day with walks, car washes, and playing in the yard.  We know we need the rain, though, so we are not complaining about these rainy days!  Here are a couple pictures of Audrey's spring fun.

Audrey is learning car washing tips from her dad.  She was just excited about the BUBBLES!

This is not a great picture, but Audrey wanted to take one of her babies on a walk with us.  She clutched that doll the entire walk around town!

Did you Know?

Life is rough when you're 16 months old.  You're so busy, and the only time you can rest is in the car.  Poor Audrey!  At least she has her "beenkie" to comfort her.

Words, Words, Words

As mentioned, Audrey's vocabulary has grown rapidly over the last couple months.  In yet another bathtub video, Audrey will share some of her new words with you.  We know it's odd to post so many videos from the tub, but it's one of two times a day she sits still.  The other is when she's eating, but her mouth is full then!

Happy Easter!

Audrey had a wonderful Easter, which coincided with an extended weekend for our spring break.  The weather was gorgeous on Friday but went downhill from there.  Audrey did still manage to look spring-like in her beautiful dress and had fun doing an Easter egg hunt inside.  She grabbed her bucket and knew exactly what to do.  Also, a miracle happened, as we were able to get a picture of Audrey looking at the camera and smiling!  WOW!
