Rat Tail

Audrey's hair is growing thicker and longer all the time, and we had to laugh one night at her bath hairdo.  When we rinsed it, it looked as if she had a rat tail, just like her dad used to have.  We will bring it back in style!

Secrets Between Sisters...

"I won't tell Dad and Mom that it was you who got sick on the chair downstairs, if you don't tell them that I was the one who put the peas on the floor.  Deal?"

Lip

Last week Audrey had her first real injury. She was getting very excited about the yogurt that was coming and tripped, falling into a chair. She bit through her bottom lip, which caused quite a bit of blood. Audrey recovered quickly, but it took her Dad quite awhile to recover emotionally. :) To make it this far into walking with only one injury is pretty good! Here are a couple of pictures of her red lip.

Good Manners

Audrey has grown very tired of using her fingers to eat food.  She wants to be more refined in her ways, so she has begun to use a fork regularly at meals.  She is a pro already, with the exception of when she's trying to spear peas.  That is a skill she will continue to work at!

Valentine's Day

Our little lovebug had a wonderful Valentine's Day with her friends and night at home with her family! She passed out her treats and cards and showed lots of love all day long. Her photo shoot was interesting that night because she really got into changing poses for the camera. She would change to a new position, smile for a picture, and then move to another position. What a model!

Sometimes models have to hurry when it's time to try a new pose.

Rock-a-Bye

Audrey received an early Valentine's Day present from Grandpa Ihde. He made her a cradle, and she loves it! Last night she put in a few babies and rocked them to sleep. She even kissed the babies before putting them in. She covered them up with a blanket, so they would stay warm on this cold, windy night. Thank you for the beautiful cradle, Grandpa!

Grand Harbor

We traveled to Grand Harbor in Dubuque this past weekend to break up the winter weekend. We thought that Audrey would be so excited by the indoor waterpark, but she was definitely skeptical in the beginning! There were so many children and a tremendous amount of noise. It took her awhile to warm up, but she did enjoy the water and one small slide. She would get out of the water after sliding and high-step it right back to the slide again. We'll have to try it again when she is a little older!  The pictures aren't fantastic because the lighting in the park wasn't ideal.

The humidity in there did wonders for curly hair!

I think I can do it, Dad.

Snow Days

Last week, our regular routine was interrupted by some wintry weather.  We had two snow days and two late starts.  Audrey loved being able to sleep in but hated to get behind on her academic work at daycare.  We squeezed in as much reading and coloring as we could to keep her caught up with her work.

Finding the perfect color is serious stuff!

Roar!

Audrey has been perfecting her animals noises. One of our favorites is her noise for a lion. She often throws her head back and gives a great big, "Roar!" The pictures below capture it perfectly.

To roar, open your mouth as far as you can.
If needed, do a small hop to add some scariness to your roar.

For the grand finale, use your arms, too.

Now we've started working on her loud UNI Panther growl...
