Graduation

Audrey traveled to Monticello last weekend for her cousin Taryn's graduation party.  She had a great time and loved dressing up for the occasion.  She wore an outfit given to her by her great, great-aunt Dorothy.  She looked beautiful!  Congratulations, Taryn!

This is our first picture together since December.  Can you tell who takes most of the pictures?

Six Months

I am late with my six-month post!  I will blame it on the busy last week of school. :)  Audrey turned six months old on Wednesday, which is amazing to think about.  We love her more and more each day as we watch her personality come out.  She smiles constantly, tells many stories, sits up well on her own, and wants to move so badly.  We've seen her raise up to her knees when she's on her stomach, so crawling will be in her future.  Her excitement this month will be starting on solid foods.  She follows our food with her eyes and has started smacking her mouth, so we're sure she's ready.  It will be a fun experience, I'm sure.  She will not have her six-month appointment until June 11th, so we'll have her stats then.  What a beautiful, wonderful little girl, and we are so excited for our extra time together this summer!

Dr. Aunt Kirstin

Audrey made her first trip out of state this weekend to travel to Madison for her aunt Kirstin's graduation.  Even though the ceremony was an hour and a half, Audrey did great!  She loved listening to the band play and had a hard time concentrating on her bottle.  Here are a few pictures from our trip.  Congratulations, Dr. Aunt Kirstin! Audrey now feels comfortable taking piano lessons from you, as your qualifications are high enough for her standards.

Slide

Audrey went on her first ride down a slide this week.  A committee I've been on for almost three years finally got our "Pirate Ship Playground" built here in town last weekend.  The grand opening was Wednesday, so Audrey enjoyed a ride down a slide.  She cried out at the end, so I think she's going to be more of a swing girl, like her mom!

That's a student of mine, smiling in the background!

Here's the playground!  Yeah, it's done!

The best kind of bath...

is in a duck tub!  Audrey thinks you all are going to be jealous of her fun baths now.  We think we might see a little curly hair when it's wet!

Watch Out!

If you have hair (or fur) and are within Audrey's grasp, you need to watch out!  She has become very interested in hair and very talented at pulling on it.  Last weekend she pulled on Aunt Courtney's hair and then tried to look really innocent about it.

"What's this?"

"Why is Aunt Courtney making noise?"

"Who me?  I didn't do anything wrong!"

Freedom

Audrey has started the transition away from being swaddled at night.  We started last week with letting one arm out for three nights, and then this weekend, we let the second arm out.  She's been doing great!  She loves her new freedom, but her arms haven't seemed to wake her up at all.  She's such a good sleeper!

One of her favorite poses!
"Hey, did I just get woken up by a flash?"  (It was time for her to wake up anyway!)

Intruder!

Last weekend, we went into Audrey's room to change her diaper, and she had an intruder taking a nap on her changing table!  Luckily, she has already learned the importance of sharing, so no fights occurred between Audrey and her furry sister, Belle.  Audrey's main concern was that her Dad would get really mad if he had to pay for Belle to wear diapers now, too.

Belle says, "As long as we're up here, someone might as well rub my stomach!"

A Plea from Audrey

Help, please!  Mom and Dad aren't feeding me enough, so I've had to resort to eating this!  Send milk quickly. :)
