Only Kate performed at the spring choir concert, as Aud was still in her early days after surgery. Kate's 6th grade group does a beautiful job singing, and our brave Kate tried out for a solo two different times this year. She enjoys singing, so her career is only beginning!🙂

Easter
We had a beautiful Easter weekend back in April, complete with decorated eggs, an egg hunt at Geeka and Grandma's, and a beautiful church service back home. We love our time spent with family!

Mila
After seventeen wonderful years, we had to say goodbye to our sweet/grumpy Mila in April. She was such a loyal member of our family and stuck to a strict routine each day that makes us still miss her! We love that girl so much and are so grateful for all the love she gave us.
Audrey's Surgery
In an effort to get caught back up after a hectic end to our school year, here we go! Audrey had surgery at the end of April to correct her floating kneecap. It was quite the invasive surgery, and those first days were quite rough for us all. She handled it all like a trooper and has been making good progress. At five weeks post surgery, she was able to ditch her crutches, and by next week, we are hoping her big brace will get unlocked, allowing her to walk and bend her knee.
One glitch in her recovery came right away when she started running a fever two days after surgery. It continued for five straight days, which landed us a trip to Urgent Care first, and then to the ER in case of infection. After many hours and tests, we found out she tested positive for strep throat. Yuck! We were grateful for that outcome, as opposed to an infection!
Missing nine days of school, making up LOTS of work, and then going back to school on crutches made for a tough ending to the school year. We were so proud of how the grit and determination she showed. Hopefully it is only up from here!
