Swimming Lessons

The girls just successfully completed another round of swimming lessons, and wow, did we see a lot of growth!  Kate can put her head under without hesitation and successfully front and back float with assistance.  She was so sweet to watch doing her "Starfish" swimming each day!  I would tell her, "Be a fish, Kate!" when she would go into lessons, and she would say, "But, Mom, I can already do a Starfish!"  She was about the stiffest starfish I had ever seen!

Audrey, though, made my heart swell and eyes fill as I watched her swim each day.  She poured her heart into it and grew from a Level 2 to a Level 4 in just eight lessons.  Once she was told what she had to do to pass Level 3, I watched her try over and over to make it swimming to a rope.  She had a smile on her face each day of lessons and didn't show any apprehension.  We were BOTH so proud of her.

Way to go, girls!

Not So Little

Another sign that Kate is growing up occurred this week when she lost her first tooth!  For weeks, she had been sharing with anyone who would listen that she had TWO loose teeth on the bottom.  Well, yesterday it reached the point of no return and was making it way too hard to eat.  With only a few little tears shed, that tooth popped right out!  She was such a brave girl about it, and actually, her big sister was so reassuring and calm about the whole experience.  It all went really well.

The tooth fairy visited last night, left a lot of glitter on Kate's forehead, and also left some money.  Audrey left a note for the tooth fairy to ask if she was the same fairy for both girls.  The answer was YES! :)

Way to go, Big Girl!

Lucy's Baptism

On May 18th, our family also got to celebrate sweet cousin Lucy's baptism in Monticello.  The girls are always craving time with cousins, and they were so happy to spend the day with Lucy!  They both had fun shaking toys over her pack 'n play and playing songs with the toys to keep her happy.  We are hoping the summer will bring some more chances to hang out and play with Lucy.

The only downside of this day was that Kate spied a snake outside Jason's shop.  It continued to occupy her mind for the rest of the day. :)

Rosie

On May 18th, our family grew a bit more when Baby Rosie was born!  We were able to go up and meet her over Memorial Day weekend, and she is such a sweetheart.  We were immediately in love, and Audrey was especially excited to hold her.  She is very experienced since she has been taking care of Easton so diligently lately. :)  As always, our visit went too quickly, and we are excited to see Rosie again when we go up in a couple weeks to help them move.  Welcome to the family, Rosie!

The weather was so perfect during our visit that we were excited to try out a newer park. Audrey absolutely loved this zip line swing.  She could have spent the entire day there!

Career Day

I'm still getting caught up from May...

Jeremy came to Career Day one Friday in May.  He never gets a choice in the matter because his wife is in charge of finding speakers. :) This year, he arrested a very unruly person from the first grade.  We haven't heard exactly what the charges are going to be yet.  Maybe she can get her uncle Justin to represent her!

TV Star

Now that school is winding down, I can start to get caught up on the blog.  First, about a month ago, Audrey become even MORE famous than she already was by appearing on the news.  The first graders had the Weather Academy visit them, and their picture appeared later that evening.  She was SO proud of herself that we couldn't delete it on DVR unless I captured it with a picture.  So, here is Audrey's debut on the local news:
