Bowling, Bowling, Bowling

On Sunday, we met some good college friends for an afternoon of bowling.  It was so nice to see them, and the kids enjoyed hanging out together.  As always, Audrey took a few minutes to warm up, but then she and Maddie really enjoyed some imaginative conversations together!  Audrey was already trying to arrange a play date at our house for the two of them.

Matt and Kate had a first date when they were just a couple months old, but haven't really kept in touch much since. :)  They stared at each other for about thirty seconds when we first arrived to the bowling alley, and then gradually warmed to the point of being able to dance and bowl together.

As always Kate and Audrey provided us all with fun entertainment, and the adults were able to catch up in short, disjointed conversations!

When it's not your turn to bowl, it's okay to STOP and break into your best dance moves.

Pictures

We had some professional pictures taken this weekend, and again, they look as if they've turned out nicely!  It was a challenge to get Kate and Audrey to smile at the same time, to say the least.  Audrey warmed up quickly to the idea of being a model.  Kate, however, did not.  She melted down a few times, but it looks as if Heidi managed to get some good ones of her, too.  Most days it's hard being two years old!

Dress Up

Imaginative play has definitely taken over our house!  One of the girls' favorite activities (especially when trapped inside because of cold weather) is playing dress up.  One night, the girls dressed up and had a wedding dance.  Audrey was the bride, and Kate was the groom.  Audrey just kept saying, "I love you so much, husband."  She's just repeating what she hears all the time in our house!  This was an occasion where Kate just went along with exactly what Audrey wanted her to, so all went well!

Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from our two little sweethearts!  They had a fabulous Valentine's Day party on Friday with their friends at daycare.  Audrey did come home and state that she and Kate were the only people who wore dresses, though, but she didn't care.  They both look for any excuse to dress up!  It was fun this year to have Audrey address her own friends' valentines!  Next year she'll have to do quite a few more in preschool, but I know she'll be up for the challenge.

Happy Valentine's Day from our family to yours!

Tonight Audrey asked how many Valentine's Days she has had.  It's crazy to think it's five.

Kate absolutely loves to twirl right now, especially when wearing skirts or tutus.  We may have a ballerina on our hands! :)

Snow Day?!

The necessity of this snow day safety-wise was questionable.  After days of hype about how big this storm was going to be, we ended up with about an inch and a half of snow, with some slush and rain mixed in.  The necessity of this snow day for fun in that snow, however, was immeasurable.  The girls and I were out for almost two hours after nap, and we had a great time!  We shoveled some of the snow, went around on the sled, and built snow people.  The snow was perfect for packing, so it was a ton of fun!  We just missed Dad, since he was at work. :(

Here are two of our finished creations!

This is Kate and her "Geeka" snowman.  Every man she sees with a mustache is "Geeka".

This is Audrey with her "Audrey" snowwoman.  Between the actual Audrey, her doll Audrey, and this snowwoman, things are starting to get a little confusing around here!
