Miss Haylee and Miss Hannah

Many of our weekends are filled with games of school going on in the basement. Right now, the space has been taken over by Miss Haylee and Miss Hannah, aka Audrey and Kate. They have quite the set up and, for the most part, get along well while playing this game. Their classroom even has a class pet (Belle) who was even briefly tied up. Poor Belle.

Well, during these trying times with education during the pandemic, just know that Miss Haylee and Miss Hannah are available for at-home learning at any moment!

This is the site of Belle's captivity.

Cousin Time

We were able to sneak away for one more outing with cousins before school truly got into the swing of things. We travelled to Madison over Labor Day to run quickly through the zoo and play at a nearby beach. It was a picture perfect sun-filled afternoon/evening, and the girls LOVED seeing their cousins. Staying in a hotel was also an added perk, even though we wore masks and couldn't swim. This year has been SO weird, but I do think it makes us treasure special events even more!

Kate decided to go in the water up to her stomach in her clothes before the water playtime was done. She was soaked, but she had the biggest smile on her face!

Dainty

Kate definitely has a cute way of looking at the world, and this weekend she shared another fun thought. She said, "Mom, I think Audrey and I start fights the most in our house, but you and Dad fight sometimes. When you fight, it is usually about mail or money. You fight about money because Dad is too dainty with money."

Yes, Kate, he is dainty with money!

1st Day of School

Well, we survived our first full week of school in many, many months. Audrey and Kate both had good first days and barely spoke of having to wear masks. The biggest trouble was not being able to mix with other classes at recess because they miss friends in the other sections. Luckily this type of school is only temporary, and I know the girls are in good hands with their teachers this year.

Way to go, Audrey and Kate! You ladies are going to rock 1st and 3rd grade this year.
