Seven Months!

Seven Months

Six Months
Audrey turned seven months yesterday, and we are amazed at how much she has grown over the last month.  She is so much stronger in her movements, tries to pull herself up to standing at any opportunity, and will find a way to get to any toy she wants by rolling or scooting.  She can briefly hold herself on all fours and often rocks forward.  We've worked hard on her waving "bye bye", and her hand does usually go up.      Audrey has grown to love her solid food over the last month. She has become a champion eater of many fruits and vegetables!  Her favorite vegetable seems to be carrots, with peas as a close second.  Her favorite fruits are definitely peaches and mangoes.  We love our little girl and enjoy every day with her even more!
I wanted to put this one in because we're hoping Audrey's hair is getting curly in the back!
You can see just a little curl when she turns her head.

Swimwear Fashions

If you are looking for the latest trends in swimwear, Audrey has had fun modeling a few looks over the last week.  We traveled to the Marion Pool with Audrey's "Aunt" Becky.  She tried out the baby pool and spent over an hour splashing around.  She loved it and even shared her water toys with some bigger girls.  She's got such wonderful social skills!

"I love my new swimsuit...

but I'm not so sure about the cover-up."

Audrey also tried out her turtle pool in the backyard on some of the muggy days. It was a hit! She loves splashing and chewing on her toys.

"What?  This says I can't dive in here!"

Great-Grandpa Dittmer

While in Elkader last weekend, Audrey stopped to meet her Great-Grandpa Dittmer.  She loved meeting him, and it was neat to see the smile that she brought to his face.  In this picture, he is giving her tips from his days playing major league baseball.  As always, Audrey is a serious student and will show off her skills in a few years!

Father's Day!

I love you, Dad!  Thanks for my first merry-go-round ride!  Happy Father's Day!

Audrey was so excited to spend Father's Day with her dad today!  She had her gift and card all ready to go, but we let Dad sleep in a little.  She made his day by saying her "dada" sound to him at different points in the day.  Since it was Father's Day, we believed she knew what she was saying!  She also was able to see her Grandpa Paulsen, Great-Grandpa Arduser, Grandpa Ihde, and her Godfather, Uncle Justin, all in one day!  Needless to say, she is sleeping soundly tonight, dreaming of all the wonderful "fathers" she has!
I LOVED TO SWING!!!!!

I'm Back!

After a brief vacation in Elkader to attend and work at the city wide garage sales, Audrey is back to her blog!  The garage sale went well, and Audrey celebrated her profits by buying herself a new dress in Elkader and a purse for her mom.  Her biggest news as of late is that she has two teeth on the bottom!  One popped through early last week, and the other popped this week.  They have provided her with so much entertainment, as she really enjoys scraping her fingernail on them to make music.  It was very hard to get a picture of the teeth, but we tried our best.  If anyone needs 20 pictures of Audrey putting her tongue over her new teeth, we could probably get those for you!

Can you see one at least?

This is what Audrey's hair looks like each time we take her bib off now.  It's very becoming!

Bubbles...

Tonight Audrey learned the art of bubble blowing from her dad.  We sat out on a blanket in the backyard for awhile and enjoyed reading books and stacking blocks.  The best part of the outdoor time was when Jeremy started blowing bubbles.  Audrey was a very serious student, and she is now ready for her turn with the wand.  I think we'll wait for that until she stops putting EVERYTHING in her mouth!

Audrey knows learning to blow bubbles is serious stuff.

"So you blow through the wand..."

"And watch them pop!"

"I think I've got it, Dad!"

First Food

I'm not sure what I thought of this first bite!
Audrey tried her first solid food tonight.  Our doctor recommended skipping rice cereal and highly recommended starting with avocado.  Audrey immediately spit that out, so we switched to sweet potatoes instead.  It's going to take some getting used to, but by the end of the small dish, she seemed a little more interested.  It will be fun this summer to experiment with different foods, and I'm even going to attempt to make most of her food while I have the time this summer!  I'm sure she'll end up loving food, just like her mom and dad!  Audrey says she'll be ready for a giant piece of meat soon, Grandpa Ihde.

Maybe it's not so bad.

I love how messy I am!

Yeah, it's Summer!

Summer has officially started in our house, since school was done last Friday.  I've been in all this week, working to organize and go through files, but I should be done after this weekend.  Audrey was so excited I was done with school that she decided to buy me roses.  She said she's going to do her best to convince her dad to buy her mom flowers more often! :)

Happy Summer, Mom!
