Tomorrow

After spending almost six months home with my two favorite girls, tomorrow starts a new school journey for us. Our days will look different, our hands will be frequently scrubbed clean, our faces will be masked, and our friends will stay just a bit farther away. 

I had a little lump in my throat as I said goodnight to these girls because as isolating as this time was, I was isolated with two of my favorite people. This is time I probably won't get again! So, goodnight to my sweet and crazy girls. I wish you a happy, healthy, and social year. 

Belle, on the other hand, is very glad we are going back. She desperately needs a break.

Geeka's Golf Cart

We were able to enjoy a weekend up with Geeka and Grandma for the first time this summer. Thanks to Covid and being in summer school, we waited until we felt safer to visit. The girls were beyond excited to see everyone and were especially excited to ride on Geeka's golf cart. Luckily, it can fit all grandkids over the age of 2 at one time right now. It was fun to hear the giggles, screams, and even Geeka's singing voice while the cart was zooming around.

Aud was given the chance to drive, too. She looked so old!

Guinea Pigs

After an extremely scary Monday of weather for our area, we have taken some comfort in getting to care for these sweet guinea pigs while house sitting for some friends. The girls have loved them, but it isn't making Jeremy sway away from his "no more pets" rule. Audrey is trying hard, though.

One funny from our house sitting is that we were only given a garage door opener for getting in, so with 4+ days of no power, Jeremy had to put a slit in a screen of an unlocked window.  Kate and Audrey could climb through, which saved the day for those guinea pigs. Whoo hoo!

We really did get lucky, compared to Cedar Rapids, but their yard lost two nice trees.

Dentist Selfie

With no cavities for any of us and a cute selfie to boot, ice cream was definitely in order!
