More Fun

In the last week, we also hit up a Kernels baseball game and the Playstation with friends. The night at the Kernels was in honor of completing the summer reading program and First Responders Night. We had free tickets to get in and free tickets for the jumpies. We had a ton of fun!

Playstation was just to see friends and use up some cheap passes. Kate finally got to have a friend, too, which made her day. She and Addy were both so sweet together. Audrey invited her sweet best friend Katelynn. It was a another perfect summertime afternoon.

Another Adventure

This week we took advantage of some gorgeous summer weather and crossed another place off my summer list. We went to Wickiup, which is a park very near our home. The interactive exhibits inside were cool, and the outdoor play/exploration area was fabulous.

Kate's favorite was the zip line, by far. I think she did it 15 times. Her smile each time was adorable, and by the end, she was even letting me push to make it go faster. Audrey loved some hammocks that were there, and she spent time curled up with her friend Lilly.

It was another perfect summer day, and even better for Jeremy, it was totally free!

Balloon Animals

The girls and I tried our hand at balloon art this past week at the library's celebration for the summer reading program. After watching the balloon artist make some pretty incredible creations, we got giggling at how hard it was to make a dog. You probably won't catch us at a fair anytime soon!

Adventures in Hiking

A week ago, we met up with two other teachers and their children for a hiking adventure at the Maquoketa Caves. I had never been there before, and it was on my list for the girls and me this summer.

Kate was very skeptical of the whole cave experience and announced she would be spending the day with Jeremy at work. Luckily, we talked her into it, and we all three had a wonderful time. The hiking was surrounded by beautiful scenery, cool caves, and some tough hills. We definitely got our exercise but had so much fun doing it.

I often think about those baby years and miss them, but this summer's adventures make us realize we still have a lot of fun ahead of us with these crazy chicks!

Me-member

There have been so many wonderful moments this summer that I want to "me-member", which is how Kate currently says "remember".  One such moment came at the library last week when Kate and Audrey tried on this crazy wig.

Right after that, Audrey and I heard Kate saying to another little girl, "You know, if we're going to play together, we should tell each other our names.  I'm Kate."  It was so sweet, and we both burst out laughing.

4th of July

It was a simple 4th of July holiday for us, but we loved the relaxed feeling.  We were invited to a good friend's home for a party on the night of the 3rd, we swam with the birthday boy (Jack!) on the 4th, had fun impromptu supper guests (Geeka and Grandma) that night, and ended the night with fireworks in the truck.  The girls were so fun and excited about it all!  Next year, though, Sadie is coming with us in the truck to see fireworks.  Poor girl was left at home and gave us her sad eyes when we pulled out in the truck without her!

Happy 4th of July!

Wonderful Girls

Two weekends in a row, we traveled up to Oshkosh to help pack, paint, clean, and move!  I can't say enough about these two sweet peas during our road trips.  Both were extremely well behaved, and Audrey was also an awesome helper.  It was just another reminder how quickly she is growing up.  She packed, kept the younger two in line, painted, scrubbed baseboards, and, of course, got in a little snuggling with Rosie.  We were SO proud of them, and we know the cousins all had fun running around together!

To celebrate good behavior, one night in Oshkosh we got ice cream cones for them.  The sign said "99 cents...any size".  Well, here is what a regular sized cone looked like!

Right now, Rosie is JUST like Easton!
