Skating

One of Kate's summer bucket list items was for a family night at the skating rink. It is NOT one of my favorite activities, but the night turned out to be quite fun. The girls enjoyed themselves, Jeremy almost won 4 corners, and Kate got far into the limbo competition. Kate has added roller skates to her Christmas list, so we shall see what her skating future holds!

Kernels Game

We were happy to spend a beautiful summer evening in early August cheering on the Kernels with other police families. Our tickets were discounted, and we were able to sit up in a balcony with our own spread of food and bathrooms. We felt pretty important! The Kernels didn't win, but we enjoyed hearing police get honored a few times during the game. We are proud of how hard Jeremy works!

New 4-Wheeler

Jeremy's dreams came true late in the summer when he bought a new side by side. This one can fit all four of us, so we are hoping this will be a family hobby the girls will enjoy as they continue to get older. We have had fun sneaking in rides as a family and exploring some of the gravel roads around us.

Mississippi River Museum

In August, we were able to spend a day with some good friends at the Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque. It had been awhile since we were there, and the girls had so much fun. By far the biggest hit were the stingrays, but we enjoyed all parts of the day! It doesn't hurt that the girls love the Kurtz kids so much. Watching them interact and have fun with younger kids warmed my heart and made them seem just a bit younger for the day!

Sweet Corn Days

We were able to make it up to Elkader in July for some fun cousin time, complete with a parade, inflatable jumpies, a climbing wall, swimming, and some face paint. Plus, Aud and Kate were able to hold puppies in the pet store, and Kate went off the high board for the first time. It was pretty perfect weather, and when we are able to couple fun events in the town with time spent with cousins, it is a definite win!
