Kate's Birthday Party

After a postponement of Kate's first birthday party in December for a faux stomach ailment, Kate the Great finally celebrated turning 8 tonight with her friends. For some reason, this day had been marked on our calendar as "Yankee Doodle's Day". It was a successful party, filled with subzero temperatures, screaming girls, a few tears, delicious cake, and two sweet 4th graders who seemed much more mature in the company of these crazy 8 year olds. Happy Birthday, sweet Kate! Hope you had a fun night.

Special Guests

Over Christmas break, our family briefly expanded as two guinea pigs from Audrey's class joined us for 12 days. Jeremy was very skeptical, of course, but Audrey did prove to be responsible about caring for Wrigley and Oscar. With the exception of some stinky bedding at times, we enjoyed our time with our two furry visitors. Now Aud has spent the last two nights researching supplies needed for guineas and is working on a presentation for why she should get two. Good luck convincing Jeremy!
