Organ

A few weeks ago, when Audrey and I went back to Elkader for garage sale weekend, my aunt gave Audrey a small organ that was Audrey's great, great aunt's.  Since then, she has enjoyed putting on concerts for any available listener.  She is still fine-tuning her technique, which is why she has such a serious expression on her face.

Pool

Before the monsoon-like rains we've had the past few days, Audrey had been enjoying her pool in the backyard.  We finally filled it up last week, and Audrey was very excited.  Being in a pool with Audrey is not quite as easy as last summer was!  Then we could plop her in the pool, and she couldn't go anywhere.  Now she goes in and out, but she is having fun.  Unless, of course, she finds grass, dirt, or bugs in her water.  That makes a bathing beauty a little upset. :)

Parks

Audrey has been busy this summer exploring different parks in the area.  We frequently visit the two play areas here in town, but we've also enjoyed venturing out!  Last week we went into Central City and tried out their splash pad/play equipment.  Audrey had such a fun time!  She ran through the water a few times but really loved the equipment.  We also tried a new park in Cedar Rapids that was great, too.  Her favorites are the swings, as she has to try out each and every swing that is at a park.  She'll say, "Done!" and move onto the next swing to say, "Up!"

Guess what, Grandpas?

Audrey has her own set of power tools, complete with safety glasses.  She was so excited when I brought these home from my classroom for the summer.  She has perfected her technique and is ready and willing to assist with any wood-working project you may have.  Just a warning, though, she likes to pretend to saw off legs! :)

Wedding Fun

Audrey has been such a social butterfly lately--garage sale in Elkader, a picnic squeezed between raindrops, and her uncle Jason's wedding!  Audrey had so much fun dressing up and celebrating with Jason and Jauna.  She was so excited that she didn't even take a nap in the car, like we thought she would!  She was a trooper, though, and had fun eating, running, and dancing.  Congratulations to Jason and Jauna!

Who has a Green Thumb?

Audrey does!  Now that the busy ending of school has come and gone, we will get caught back up on Audrey's world! :)  A few weeks ago, we bought Audrey a watering can, and now she has started to love helping water the flowers (and grass!) around the house with Mickey.  Even though this has been an extremely wet spring, the grass can always use a little more water.  I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremy sneaks a use of Audrey's watering can because it is Mickey holding a fire hose!
