One of Audrey's summer bucket list items was to take Sadie to the dog park. We weren't quite sure how this country dog would handle being around other dogs, so we prepped Audrey that we might not be able to stay very long. In the end, Sadie had the entire park to herself! She spent most of her time walking around the perimeter of the dog park, just like she does at home. She ended her big excursion by enjoying a pup cup from Scooter's!
The final post about vacation is about the gorgeous house we stayed in. From a trampoline to rabbits, chickens, a pool table, and a hot tub, it had everything the cousins could have hoped for. Great memories were made just hanging around in the house, and we were really grateful to be able to stay there. An added bonus was the girls were able to have a sleepover with Lizzie 4 of the 6 nights!
Our last day in Colorado crossed off an important item on the girls' vacation bucket list....horseback riding. The girls had been talking about it ever since seeing an OLD family video from my childhood of us doing it. Nerves started to set it as we got to the stables, but the beautiful and gentle horses quickly settled things. We had great guides, and the ride took us back through the beautiful Garden of the Gods. It couldn't have been more perfect! Audrey's horse was named Soldier, Kate's was Gingersnap, and Jeremy, oddly enough, had a mischievous horse aptly named Sadie. And, none of us can remember mine!
We ended the day, then, by cooling off by swimming in a pool with a view of the mountains in the background. It really couldn't have been more ideal, with the one exception of the slowest water slide in the world.🙂
Our next morning was spent at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, which was a really cool place. We were able to explore homes built by Native Americans into the cliffs. Even the kids had fun crawling in and out of everything! We were able to sneak in a little learning throughout the morning, too!🙂
Our afternoon was spent playing mini golf, going through an adventure course, and having a Nerf war. All in all, it was a pretty perfect day!
