We had a much healthier week this week, although Audrey's sleep pattern is a little wacky right now. Hopefully a weekend of rest happens for us all!
One morning this week, the girls felt like accessorizing and grabbed pink headbands. Audrey and I had to laugh at how quickly Kate dislodged her band. She would go from looking like Rambo to wearing it as a bow tie. What goofy ladies!
A blog to celebrate the life and times of our two adorable little girls!

Cheese!
How can someone say "cheese" and "ashes" (from "Ring Around the Rosie") before they consistently say "Mama"??

Visit
On Sunday, we took advantage of sunny skies and dry roads to drive down to Burlington to visit some friends from UNI. Audrey was so excited to get to play with Caleb and Annie again, and Kate was just game for anything that included food! :) We had a wonderful visit, and we thank their family for a delicious lunch and fabulous company. We hope to see you again soon!
Annie and Audrey had fun playing dress-up.
Caleb had fun using all of his muscles to push Kate around in a doll stroller. She had the biggest smile on her face while she was being pushed!

Mystery in the Basement
On the super cold day last week that caused us to have a day off from school, we spent our day cuddled up inside. Audrey had received an indoor tent from her aunts for Christmas, and we have it set up in the basement. We love to take books inside the tent to read, and we had just started to do that on our snow day. Suddenly, we were disturbed by a noise outside the tent and felt some rustling on the sides. Detective Audrey was on the case!
Tent is set up. Girls are reading.
Do you notice the first clue in this picture?
AH HA, Belle! You are caught sharpening your "claws" by Detective Audrey.
In Belle's defense, her activities are disturbed daily by two ladies in our house. It's about time for a little payback.

Cold Weather
As we look ahead to a week of frigid temperatures and possible snowfall, Audrey and Kate wanted to give a suggestion for passing the time---reading! Curl up with a good book in a comfy chair (or a crib), and the time will pass quickly as you lose yourself in the story. Here are a few tips from two expert readers:
1) Listening to others read can add a fun element to the reading experience.
2) Other times it's just best to read to yourself.
3) Sometimes you will find what you read to be perplexing.
4) Sometimes what you read will surprise you!
No matter what you read or how you read it, you will have a wonderfully warm and cozy time reading.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from our family to yours! We are leaving behind a 2014 that was filled with much happiness, laughter, fun, and love as we settled into being a family of four. We watched Audrey grow away from being a toddler to being a little person, and she dazzles us daily with her thoughts, ways of understanding, and spunk. Kate started out the year as a loud little lady and ended it by being the biggest sweetheart with an incredibly infectious smile. We are so excited to see what 2015 will bring us. Right now, our hope is that it will start by bringing us a black and gold victory tomorrow---GO HAWKS!
