Kate--Day Two

Kate woke up this morning with a very puffy eye, looking like she had been in a fight the night before.  It does look as if this should heal nicely, so that is good!  It'll get a little better each day now.  Audrey, however, ended the day with a temperature of 103.4...

Daredevil

As of late, Kate has become a very brave little girl, who is slightly mischievous.  She has a big sister to keep up with, so she is always on the go.  Tonight she suffered her first major injury when she stood on a small chair.  We got her down once, but as soon as our backs were turned, she did it again.  This time the chair tipped backwards, and she hit her head on an end table, getting a bad cut near her eye.  We once again had to visit Urgent Care for glue, and Kate did her best to handle it like a champ.  Hopefully the scar will be minimal, and Kate will sit on chairs from now on.  We'll see!

Pictures

We had some family pictures taken this past weekend and have seen a sneak peek of a couple!  So far everything looks awesome, especially this one.  Heidi captured both girls smiling and not bothering each other while touching.  It's amazing! :)

Wedding

Last weekend we traveled back to Monticello to attend a lovely wedding between Sara and Jon.  The day was gorgeous, and the girls were very much excited for the dance!  Both girls had been practicing their dance moves for weeks. :)  The girls were pleasantly surprised to also get to try out a mode of transportation that was their own size.  Since Audrey was closer to legal driving age, she took the wheel.  Poor Kate suffered whiplash as Audrey wasn't quite smooth with her starting and stopping skills.  She didn't look too upset, though!  Congratulations, Jon and Sara!

Outside Fun

We are loving these warm evenings for playing outside after our busy days at daycare and school.  The girls have dipped into their summery clothes, tested out the swing set, and jumped into the tub at night all sticky and dirty.  It's almost summer, and we are counting the days!  Here are some pictures of one of our fun nights together.

Making Plans

Last weekend, two little ladies sat across from each other, having a conversation and making plans to play together.  The only problem was that their parents wouldn't let them cross the street, so this is what had to happen.  It was the cutest thing to see!

Big Girl Date

Last night Audrey and I had a "big girl" date to watch a student of mine in a dance recital.  Audrey was so excited to dress up and head out for the night.  She said to me earlier in the day, "Mom, Kate will cry when we leave.  I just know Kate will cry."  If you are imagining her saying that in a slightly devious voice, you are exactly right!

Audrey loved the dance recital and sat so still.  She sat still, that is, until "Uptown Funk" was playing, and from that song on, she bopped and moved with the dancers.  I do think a dance class may be in her future!

I had fun hanging out with my big girl.  We asked Kate the next morning if she had fun with Dad, and she had no response.
