Benefit Day

Our plans for Benefit Day this year were thwarted when Kate woke up with her first legitimate stomach bug. We were supposed to enjoy the parade with the Vorwalds and attend an outdoor play that evening, but instead, poor Kate was sidelined on the couch. Pieces of our family did enjoy parts of the day, though.

Aud and I did make it to Charlotte's Web. It was a beautiful night for the play.

Audrey rode in the firetruck with Jeremy for the parade, but Jack would not.

Jack did climb in and out of the truck though!

Back to School

Summer 2019 was my favorite summer yet with the girls. As much fun as the baby years were, these years are even better. Some days were full of drama, but every day was full of fun. However, last Friday it was time for summer to wind down, as our first day of school was here.

Kate was beyond excited. She was so ready to see her friends at school, so I didn't really experience much sadness sending her off to kindergarten.

Audrey was nervous, but her nerves quickly disappeared when she saw her best friend Katelynn. She pronounced that she is going to love 2nd grade.

My day was sprinkled with a few criers, but overall it was a great first day.  Here's to a great year at school. Go Pirates!

We even got Charlie in another year's picture. Sadie would not have cooperated!

Hi-Pad

In case you need lessons on how to work the Hi-Pad (according to Jack), then Geeka is your man!

Zoo

The most successful vacations include a trip to the zoo, and the St. Louis Zoo did not disappoint! The girls enjoyed looking around at the incredible exhibits and beautiful animals. From the sea lion show to the up close penguin exhibit, the day was perfect. The girls especially loved being able to pick out their souvenir stuffed animals at the end of the day. Kate chose a bright pink, very realistic monkey, and Audrey chose an elephant wearing a hooded sweatshirt. It was a tough decision!

The Arch

After a busy day at the City Museum, we decided to squeeze in a trip to the Arch that afternoon. Jeremy and I hemmed and hawed about taking the girls at these young ages, but the girls were insistent!

After a looong wait, we finally made it up to the top, and it was breathtaking. The girls were in awe, and it reminded us how much fun it is to view the world through their little eyes. We are at such fun ages right now, and their excitement melts our hearts.

There was a little nervousness about the roller coaster/elevator we were riding in. In the end, Kate admitted it was fun.

Fun with Jack

We were so happy to spend our vacation with Jack. We had a lot of laughs experiencing things through his eyes. Even silly moments like this made us smile.

Vacation #2

Our second full day in St. Louis was spent at the City Museum. This huge industrial building has been converted into floors and floors of climbing structures that are absolutely amazing. It was a bit overwhelming, but our little family had a great time. We spent over five hours exploring, with a small break for chips and salsa down the street. This would definitely be a fun place to go back to when the girls are a bit older. Luckily, I was the only one to get stuck, and it didn't help that my laughing husband wouldn't help me out.

Vacation #1

We hit the road last weekend and traveled down to St. Louis for a few days. Our first full day was spent at The Magic House, which was an amazing place for young kids. The girls and Jack spent hours and hours exploring the different floors of the home, both inside and out. The whole house encouraged imaginative play, which was perfect for the girls. They served us pizza, treated sick animals, fished, stood inside a bubble, served as president, and climbed a beanstalk. Here are just a few pictures of the day.
